Wonder by R.J Palacio \\ AKA The Cutest Book Ever!

I won’t describe what I look like. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably worse.

August (AWonder-by-R.-J.-Palaciouggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He’s about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep, and if you’ve ever been the new kid then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie’s just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he’s just like them, despite appearances?

R. J. Palacio has written a spare, warm, uplifting story that will have readers laughing one minute and wiping away tears the next. With wonderfully realistic family interactions (flawed, but loving), lively school scenes, and short chapters, Wonder is accessible to readers of all levels.

This novel is  everything you expect it to be,a touching novel about a boy who has to face some difficulties in life as result of defect when he was born. But this books quirkiness, emotions and its funny moments just made the reading experience so much better!

Auggie is more than his defect, his thoughts and emotions are so dimensional and deep which was a good surprise as one of my fears going into this book was August being one dimensional.

This novel follows Auggie starting school , real school with kids and teachers. We follow his experience facing the world that his parent tried to  shield him from. It heart-wrenching to see his progression, all the highs and lows.

The writing in this book is swift, light which makes this a fast read.Having multiple POVS works in this book magnificent.I really did enjoy and learn to love each character, each one having some arc in the book!

“Everyone in the world should get one standing ovation in their lifetime”

Auggie’s character development throughout the book was just amazing, to see him grow as person through a short period time just made my heart burst!

Via is such a underrated character in this book , I need more of her. Readers got to see a different side(perspective) of Auggie and how much he affects her life. She is strong and selfless and at times I felt she needed a hug.I WANT TO GIVE HER SO MANY HUGS!.

Auggie’s family is the cutest thing ever.Despite going through some hardship , they manage to support each unconditional, which isn’t the easiest thing to do!

There are various point of views in this book, which I think is awesome. We get to hear different people’s thoughts and describe the impact and presence auggie had on their lives regardless of it being negative or positive.

Wonder left me in cloud of happiness and joy.

Wonder shows that humans can for once  come together , support, empower and trust one another.A message like that only brings hope into my heart!

The plot has a good pace to allow some character development but also keep it enticing and not boring.

“We carry as human beings, not just the capacity to be kind, but the very choice of kindness”

This book serves such thoughtfulness and regardless of it being middle grade, it teaches something to everyone.Human can be so ruthless and judgey. We tend to forget each others hardships and are so quick to be selfish. We can do so much better than that.In our own lives we can be kinder, friendly. Not just smiling to each other in the hallway, but being each other friends, empowering each other to be our best.

Wonder is book that offers a great lesson on being human and all I can ask is for everyone to take your time and read this beautiful novel about self love and love in generally.

  • Katy Perry, Unconditionally.katy perry unconditionally
  • Oh Wonder, White Blood.

Check out these songs! I feel like they fit the book so well!

Rating: 4.5/5 Kittens.

8 Books I Plan To Read This Summer.

book-on-the-beach (2)Hello fellow readers!

Summer is arriving very soon which means more time to read! Which causes me to think, didn’t we just ring in the new year, it baffles me to think the year is almost done. This happens to bring me to my stark realization of my lack of reading, so I am trying to make it up by creating a good list of books so I can try to catch up to my reading goal.

So alas here are the books:

I’ll Give You The Sun
 By Jandy Nelson

I am currently reading this one , and boy the emotions it entails!! While I have been reading this book at a slow pace, I can see why this got all the hype in the book community last year!

More Than This By Patrick Ness

I am going pretend that this book hasn’t been on hold for a whole year.  Regardless, I am going to finish this book this summer !

The Ask and The Answer( Chaos Walking #2) By Patrick Ness

Oh Patrick Ness is all over this list, but c’mon its Ness! His writing is superb and the  complex ideas he creates in his novels keeps me interested to instantly pick up it!

A Court Of Thorns And Roses By Sarah J. Maas

Damn, I know I am ridiculously late to be reading the first book when everyone is fangirling over the second. However I am going to try out Sarah J Maas fairy tale retelling despite me never reading one of her novels.Excuse  me while I hide in shame.

A Court Of Mist And Fury By Sarah J. Maas

Put this one on here because you know, I am drawn to the hype.

Wonder By Raquel J. Palacio

Really excited to read a book in which enlightens differences. The boy in the novel has unique physical  characteristics, and the novel follows his daily dealing with monsters   people who judge on first appearance. I can already sense the *FEELSS*

The Shining Girls By Lauren Beukes

I haven’t heard much about the main concept of this novel but received countless recommendation to check out this dark mystery novel.Perfect for the rainy Sunday!

The Bone Gap By Laura Ruby

Another title in which I cannot even explain what the book is about! But sometimes I think it’s better to know less and be surprised when reading instead expecting it!

Do you see any books on this list that sparked your interest? Or do you recommend a novel for me to read this summer ? Comment down below to join in on the conversation!

Book Review: Illuminae

Hardcover. 599 pages
Published :October 20th 2015 by Knopf Books for Young Readers
Genre: Sci-fiction, Ya.

This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do.

This afternoon, her planet was invaded.

The year is 2575, and two rival mega corporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.

Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes

This book shook my world,
This novel is following a space battle between two corporations, and amidst it all is Kady and Ezra, teens from the planet kerenza, which at the start of book has been attacked by Biotech and left many as refugees fleeing to ships like Alexander and Hypatia.Pretty much, a lot of stuff goes on in this novel. The format of the book puts readers in a interesting position Not only does it allow the reader to read  from both Kady and Ezra perspective, but also from the AI, the captains of the ships and many individuals who are apart of this large complex story.
